This trip gives you the skills you need to become an independent trad leader, with a maximum 1:2 ratio. Your instructor will meet you in London and drive you to the crag. Taking place over three days in the Peak District, the course covers:

  • Gear placement

  • Anchor building

  • Assessing the rock

  • Rope management

  • Route reading

  • And much more!

We provide any kit that you may need, and tailor the choice of routes to your ability.

Experience needed: you must be a competent indoor leader, comfortable top-roping 6a. If you’ve never led before, no problem - contact us to discuss a bespoke booking.

U-18 PARTICIPANTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PAYING ADULT PARENT OR GUARDIAN.

These trips need a minimum of 2 participants to run. If not enough people book, then we will refund you.


Accommodation

We will be staying at the excellent YHA Castleton Losehill Hall. You will be sharing a private room with the other course participants. Accommodation costs are included in the course fees. Breakfast is available for a small extra charge.

Tuesday
Breakfast in YHA or Castleton, all day on the crag, dinner in Castleton

Thursday

Breakfast in YHA or Castleton, all day on the crag, home to London in the evening
